As many of you may have known, SuperSnoop was slated for a September 22nd, 1997 release date. Haha, well, that never happened. The reason is because of bad programming. Not just bad code, but a bad compiler.
Microsoft Visual Basic, lets face it, is a bad product. Maybe not for beginners, but for those who want to write commercial software, it’s a no-no. The main problem with SuperSnoop “1.0” was the fact that IT WOULDN’T RUN ON ANYONE’S SYSTEM. That kind of makes it hard to continue, ya know? The problem was in all of these external DLL files, ActiveX controls, etc that were needed to load the program. After 10 months of frustration and limitations, I decided to switch to Borland Delphi as my main development tool. Boy, was I happy! Never before had I seen such RAD tools! I was hooked at first sight (well, maybe second.)
Since I realized the incredible potential of delphi, I decided to just DROP Visual Basic completely, even after all of those investments in time, and money.
There are actually people out there – some I am friends with, others I am not – who have followed SuperSnoop since its creation in July 97. If you are one of those people, I’m sure you have heard me apologize countless times for delays. Please, let me apologize once more, but promise you that rewriting SuperSnoop in Delphi will make it all worth it.
